The MeisterSinger S-AS902Y Astroscope Black-Yellow is a unique analogue watch that displays the days of the week in a unique way, linked to the celestial bodies that have been assigned to the days of the week since ancient times. The black dial with yellow accents and a subtle horizon creates the impression of a night sky full of stars.
Dial and functions
The symbols of the seven planets are placed in a semicircle in the upper half of the dial, each corresponding to a day of the week:
- Monday: Moon ☽
- Tuesday: Mars ♂
- Wednesday: Mercury ☿
- Thursday: Jupiter ♃
- Friday: Venus ♀
- Saturday: Saturn ♄
- Sunday: Sun ☉
A yellow dot indicates the current day of the week, which does not move linearly or radially, but in a pattern that only occurs once every ten to twelve years in the southern night sky of the northern hemisphere. In addition, above the 6 o'clock position is a circular date display with a yellow polished edge.
Case and mechanism
The slim stainless steel case has a diameter of 40 mm and is water resistant to 5 bar. A spherical sapphire glass covers the clock face, while the glass back, screwed down on six sides, reveals the Swiss Sellita SW220 automatic movement, specially adapted for MeisterSinger single-hand watches. This movement offers a power reserve of 38 hours.
